Privacy Policy

The short version
We store your email address if you create an account, and the tickers you add to your watchlist. We count page views without cookies and without storing IP addresses. We do not use advertising trackers, we do not run third-party analytics, and we do not sell or share your data with anyone.
If you create an account
We store your email address and the tickers on your watchlist. That is all. Sign-in is passwordless — we send a link to your email — so there is no password to store, leak or reset.
Your email is used to send sign-in links, and nothing else. We do not send marketing email.
Sign-in email is delivered by Resend, who process your address solely to deliver that message.
Visit statistics
We count page views ourselves rather than using Google Analytics or any similar service. No data about your visit leaves our server.
We record:
- the page path you visited, without any query string
- the website that linked you here, if any — the domain name only, never the full address
- the time of the visit
- a one-way hash used to tell visitors apart within a single day
That hash is generated from your IP address and browser identifier combined with a random value that we regenerate every 24 hours and never store. Once it changes, the previous day's hashes cannot be recreated or connected to the new ones. Your IP address itself is never written to our database.
This means we can see that a page was viewed and roughly how many people viewed it, but we cannot follow an individual between days, build a profile, or identify you.
Because no data is stored on your device and nothing identifies you, this does not require a cookie banner. That is a deliberate design choice, not an oversight.
Cookies
We set cookies only when you sign in, and only to keep you signed in. They are strictly necessary for that purpose, carry no advertising or tracking identifiers, and are removed when you sign out.
If you never sign in, this site sets no cookies at all.
Search and bot protection
When you search for a ticker and open its page, we record the search term and ticker so the site can show what people are looking at. This is not linked to your account or to you.
Search uses Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish people from automated scripts. Cloudflare state that Turnstile does not track users across sites and is not used for advertising.
Public content on this site
stonks4u collects publicly posted messages about stocks from news outlets, public forums and other public sources, and stores short excerpts with a link to the original. If you posted something publicly elsewhere and it mentions a ticker, an excerpt may appear here, attributed to its source.
If you want an excerpt of your own content removed, email hello@stonks4u.com and we will remove it.
Your rights
You can see everything we hold about you on your account page, and delete your account from there at any time. Deleting it removes your email address, your watchlist and your sign-in records immediately and permanently — there is no recovery period and no archived copy.
If you are in the UK or EU, you also have the right to request a copy of your data, correct it, or complain to your data protection authority. Email hello@stonks4u.com for any of these.
