Valuation
Project earnings forward and see what return today's price implies.
Seeded from LQDT's reported EPS growth of -4.1% a year over 13 years.
- EPS in 5 years
- $0.74
- Implied price
- $22.10
- Return from $42.64
- -12.3% a year
To earn 15.0% a year on these assumptions you'd need to buy at $10.99 — -74.2% below today's price.
How sensitive is that answer?
Annual return across nearby assumptions. If the result is only attractive in one corner, that is the finding.
| growth \ P/E | 20 | 25 | 30 | 35 | 40 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| -14.1% | -27.6% | -24.3% | -21.5% | -19.0% | -16.8% |
| -9.1% | -23.4% | -19.9% | -16.9% | -14.3% | -12.0% |
| -4.1% | -19.1% | -15.5% | -12.3% | -9.6% | -7.1% |
| 0.9% | -14.9% | -11.0% | -7.7% | -4.9% | -2.3% |
| 5.9% | -10.7% | -6.6% | -3.2% | -0.1% | 2.6% |
This is arithmetic on assumptions you chose, not a forecast or a recommendation. It ignores dividends, buybacks, share issuance and debt, and it assumes a company still earning money in 5 years. Change any input and the answer changes a lot — that sensitivity is the honest result, not a flaw in the model.

Can Liquidity Services (LQDT) Run Higher on Rising Earnings Estimates? Liquidity Services (LQDT) shares have started gaining and might continue moving higher in the near term, as indicated by solid earnings estimate revisions.

Liquidity Services: Expanding User Base And Operating Leverage Liquidity Services maintains a debt-free balance sheet with $231 million in cash and short-term investments as of June 2026. LQDT has strong operating leverage with expanding adjusted EBITDA and margins. The stock is trading at a slight premium to listed asset sellers, but with LQDT having stronger projected EBITDA growth than its peers, the valuation premium is justified, in my view.

74 further Form 4 entries are share awards, option exercises or shares withheld for tax. Those are compensation, not trades, so they are excluded above. Buying is the stronger signal: an insider spends their own money for one reason. Selling has many innocent explanations — tax, diversifying, a house — so it says far less than it appears to.
