Estimates and results for MNST via Financial Modeling Prep. Beating consensus says the company cleared the bar analysts set, not that the business grew.
Valuation
Project earnings forward and see what return today's price implies.
Seeded from MNST's reported EPS growth of 10.7% a year over 4 years.
- EPS in 5 years
- $1.62
- Implied price
- $63.29
- Return from $46.82
- 6.2% a year
To earn 15.0% a year on these assumptions you'd need to buy at $31.47 — -32.8% below today's price.
How sensitive is that answer?
Annual return across nearby assumptions. If the result is only attractive in one corner, that is the finding.
| growth \ P/E | 27 | 33 | 39 | 45 | 51 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.7% | -10.2% | -6.6% | -3.4% | -0.6% | 1.9% |
| 5.7% | -5.8% | -1.9% | 1.4% | 4.4% | 7.0% |
| 10.7% | -1.3% | 2.7% | 6.2% | 9.3% | 12.1% |
| 15.7% | 3.1% | 7.4% | 11.0% | 14.2% | 17.1% |
| 20.7% | 7.6% | 12.0% | 15.8% | 19.2% | 22.2% |
This is arithmetic on assumptions you chose, not a forecast or a recommendation. It ignores dividends, buybacks, share issuance and debt, and it assumes a company still earning money in 5 years. Change any input and the answer changes a lot — that sensitivity is the honest result, not a flaw in the model.

MNST will probably keep going up forever because it's the hip drink that just doesn't wanna go away (they had a share split recently don't mind the cliff on the chart). Non-food, non-tech stuff could be integrated oil major companies or miner companies, but those aren't just buy and holds for 3 years (unless you really want to, they…
